Our Blueberries

Rainier Fruit Blueberries 1 - Rainier Fruit

100% organically grown blueberries

When we decided to grow blueberries in the rainshadows of the Cascades, we were doing something that hadn’t been done before. On a mission to grow the very best tasting organic blueberries in the world, we used being on the dry side of the state to our advantage. Because we lack the rain on this side of the mountains, we can calculate the water usage and avoid mold and other issues created by too much water that can occur in traditional growing climates.

Rainier’s blueberries are a true testament to our farmers’ innovation, determination, and tenacity. So that’s how it’s always been, 100% organically grown blueberries, grown by one family, in the Washington desert.

Blueberry eating tips

To maximize your blueberry-eating experience, follow these simple tips for selecting, handling, storing and preparing fresh blueberries.

Tip One:

Blueberries will keep for about a week but should be enjoyed as soon as possible!

Tip Two:

Choose firm, plump blueberries with a dusty white sheen (known as “bloom”). These are the ripest and best tasting.

Tip Three:

Blueberries are great fresh or frozen. To preserve their fresh summer flavor, freeze them individually on a cookie sheet before placing them in a bag to prevent them from freezing together in a clump.

Tip Four:

Do not wash blueberries until just before you’re going to eat them. They’re very absorbent and will get waterlogged and soggy!

Tip Five:

Discard any red or underripe berries, they won’t ripen once they’re picked.
