Growing up in the Yakima Valley, Brian spent most of his spare time outside enjoying 300 days of sunshine. Things haven’t changed much except for the fact that he’s now growing fruit just a little further south near Pasco, Washington. It’s the constant change and endless opportunity for improvement that keeps Brian in love with his life. (And the fact that his commute is literally just down his front steps doesn’t hurt either!) Beyond that sheer sense of pride that develops when working with his team to tackle a seemingly unachievable task, it’s just fuel to take on the next challenge.
Favorite way to enjoy the fruit you grow:
Besides eating it straight off the bush, I eat blueberries in my morning oatmeal. Every morning.
Off-the-farm hobbies or interests:
I love the outdoors. In the summer months, I compete in triathlons. In the winter, I snowshoe and snowboard. I recently started to teach my young daughter how to ski- that has been a blast!
Favorite part of the season:
My favorite part of the year is ALL year. The fact that each day is busy and action-packed is what makes it enjoyable for me.
